it's often a good thing for when you get an abominable name like Joint Land Attack Cruise Missile Defense Elevated Netted Sensor System (JLENS).
Land Attack Cruise Missile is already an acronym (LACM), and forms the L in JLENS, meaning that it's an acronym embedded in another acronym. They only used one S I guess, idk.
