Yeah, it's surprising what throws it off. For some reason if you were on any subsidized healthplan bought through the ObamaCare market place, it would reject your filing. Which, if you're poor, that's where you're getting your healthcare through, so boom, can't use.

Yep. Also if you have income from tips or gig work you can't. So again, poors can't.

Poors can file through the IRS Free File program, using whatever online tax softwares are participating that year. TurboTax actually participated for a time.

No people like Direct File (and its cousin for information returns, IRIS). That is, to the extent that they use it, since r-slurs just use TurboTax because of Super Bowl ads.

The reason the IRS was able to develop it though is because Biden gave beaucoup money to it in the Inflation Reduction Act, and that is what rightoids oppose. They think it should be funded less because then they complain about how poorly it functions.

TurboTax moggs direct file if you have more than just a single income and interest from a savings account

TurboTax saves a lot of time, basically everything is auto imported

That being said if the IRS knows how much I owe them anyway I shouldn't even be fricking with taxes so frick turbotax for that reason
