Wear subversive T-shirts. when you go out but not ones that attack a specific political party as you want to be seen as approachable, not angry. Additional points if they're amusing. We are afraid to talk to each and we have to encourage other folks to speak out. An activist I admire very much once explained to me that the 3 stages of activism are thinking, speaking and taking action and people need to know that they're not alone in this shit show.
