My company is freaking out over the trade war stuff. They're basically trying to turtle up and slash hours based on the instability of the current government.
They keep preparing fairly large price hikes on tons of items just to shelf them 2 days later.
With unemployment about to explode and government fueled instability increasing food prices I'm legit worried we're gonna see serious strife.

I dont remember being worried at all during covid as the government was pumping money into the economy.
I dont remember those other years even being close to as alarming as this.

government pumping money into the economy means nothing when the economy literally stops functioning lol, ships stopped moving, everything except hospitals and grocery stores shut down, the economy actually ground to a halt, and we are still and will still feel the ramifications from those months for years.
granted i was only in high school during 2008 but i do remember my dad talking about half his retirement being wiped out, but 2020 was absolutely the most harrowing time of economic outlook in my lifetime
