FEMA is weird, it's a mildly incompetent project that is truly bad at using its resources to prepare and ends up overspending after disasters because of that, but rightoids hate it because a literal 50 year old conspiracy about how they were going to use some poor understanding of written law vs. actual judges to just destroy the 4th amendment and/or imprison you or some shit. (imagine of all the presidents to rage out a conspiracy over, you're raving with a remnant of milquetoast carter derrangement syndrome in 2025)
Despite the fact that Katrina outed them as wildly incompetent 20 years ago by now and quite frankly, they don't seem to do much besides the disaster relief fund. (which to be fair is like 2/3s of their 30B/yr budget+ semi-regular injections of several billions). And the DRF REALLY does need some auditing because I really have trouble seeing where that shit is going besides local government needs a project for a disaster (that happens to be a contractor owned by someone on the city gov
). Also I feel like having a standing army, national guard, other parts of homeland, etc. could really cover a lot of its functions.
Anyways, waiting warmly for these same folks to figure out the federal government hasn't owned haarp for 20 years in 2035.

None of this matters, 1.6 million immigrants moved to the US in 2023, that is equivalent to the population of one Estonia moving into the US every single year. A number so high it would empty out the bottom 50 nations of the world within 30 years time if the US only took immigrants from those territories.
5.1 million immigrants from non-EU nations entered the EU in 2022, if the trend holds it is high enough flow of humans that the EU alone could empty out the bottom 70 lowest population nations in the world within a generation if they only took immigrants from those territories.
Together the US and the EU could empty out the entire bottom half of nations by population entirely within a 30 year time span.
What we are seeing are empires that have become too large in population to remain sustainable. Their very existence destabilizes half the nations on the planet due to the vast manpower needs required to sustain these "empires" in all but name.
As one of the core tenets of westernization is that all populations of immigrants are interchangeable with the domestic population as labor, every time a nation state westernizes places an ever rising burden on all neighboring territories of supplying them with ever more manpower year after year while their own fertility rate goes into decline. As we are already see play out in the case of Japan and South Korea.
What current trends suggest is that the world is aggregating into billion+ population empires and that we can expect the US, EU, China, and India to hold 75% of the world's population between then in the decades ahead.
Small nation states are going to die out in a trend similar to the death of small towns and villages in the countryside as everybody moves to larger territories.
