There will never be a year of Linux anything when their default response to a user calling their software objectively inferior to competitors is to call the user entitled and disregard their grievances as petty.
It doesn't even matter if you're right, you simply have two choices: provide basic feature parity that users expect, or accept the fact that no one will bother with your distro.
The user does not give a frick. They will use the best and easiest product. Period. They do not give a frick how it was made.
