It's like the diffusion of social media and streaming culture has made them more aware of what's cool and what isn't, even when they're online. Millennials on the other hand are either normies or straight up turbonerds.

I'm a Gen Xer, and we had the most amazing childhoods in human history. There has never been or will be another generation that had the freedom and lack of supervision that we did, not to mention a vastly superior media landscape than today.
To be fair though, we were the ones who started the "permanent childhood" thing. I have a buddy who still displays some of his original Star Wars toys in his living room, and it makes me cringe every time I visit.
