TBH How do these crashes compare to the years before? Is this absolutely abnormal or just an incidental uptick.

It happens sometimes. Every deployment, something crazy is guaranteed to happen. This squadron is from Washington and crashed by San Diego probably because they are doing workups getting ready to deploy.

The real bad part is this was the extra cool/expensive Growler variant :(
