Massive Real dramarama at my building today! Union-mafias threaten Workforce!

There's a bunch of private security forces hanging out around the building where our office is located, and guarding the Workforce office (where government officials try to get peeps work based on whatever meagre qualifications they have; one of the few decently useful organizations to the public)

The reason: because fricking they received massive threats on facebook from unions, for not hiring peeps part of that union. Despite the fact that Workforce comes on a 1st arrived, 1st served principle and towards relevant qualifications (like actually having finished Matics; which is why so many peeps were rejected )

Additionally, the reason why peeps are taking random Facebook threats seriously, is because for the last 3 years, countrywide, lots of taxi Union-mafias have issued threats to schools via facebook, after schools in black districts (which are poor and therefore carless) for not hiring THEIR specific fricking taxi companies/union

Let me explain: many taxis usually have like a route they follow which is economically viable - but often a school lays outside their routes from residence zones to the business-districts where peeps have their jobs, so schools often hire taxi-fleets/companies, to specifically wait outside schools after school-closing hours, that the kids may have ways home

Or additionally the schools barter for a flat monthly contract wage, so that the school kids ride for free, and this contract is paid from the school yearly fees or whatever. This is cheaper and more worthwhile for both parties on large scale, and in massed minibus-taxis, rather than one taxi going outside its way for just a few kids, thus having to ask very high fee for those kids. so again beneficial for both parties involved.

The taxi-mafia-unions want in on these types of contracts, because it's stable reliable work, but even black safrican peeps actually love their kids, so often only the most reliable taxi-companies are hired by schools over time, or at least the taxis which drive the least like hooligans, and put kids at risk lol

Basically taxi-unions force or try to force schools black dominant schools to hire THEIR companies, even after the school-Master had told them no, and for many schools these past 3 years had been threatened by Facebook! And then fricking put their actions to validity, after their threats11!!

The minibus taxi associations appear to be demanding that we allocate transport contracts to them without following tender processes, which we cannot and will not do. It is simply illegal.

Let us be clear: the Western Cape Education Department will not meet with any minibus taxi association until they terminate their blockade, and teaching and learning resumes without disruption.

They have now allegedly issued a threat to "offload" learners from any transport not operated by minibus taxi association members, posing a serious threat to our children's safety. This allegedly includes parents driving their children to school because their usual transport is not operating.

Today, I will meet with Provincial Police Commissioner, Lieutenant-General Thembisile Patekile, to discuss exactly what the South African Police Service will be doing to stop this attempted extortion and intimidation by the taxi industry, and to ensure that our learners return safely to school.

This attempted extortion is a crime against our learners, and it must stop immediately.
