More important timeline. Obama loses to Romney in 2012. No Clinton Sec of State means no backing of France in Libya. No Libya means possibly no Iranian rearmament (they escalated after this) and DEFINITELY no North Korean rearmament (They cited this as the reason there can never be peace with the West until they have nukes). Trumpism never really gains hold and dems get to enjoy not having their own Iraq.

Trump Kamala Hillary Biden… always a least bad option not a good one. There's no utopia or better world coming through some magical future government. The only gains come from occasional pluralism where some new ideas get injected which is trumps main value. But mostly it's a system that will keep growing in scope like an octopus's tentacles wrapping around the globe

If I'm a standard Blue-Tribe American democrat or leftist I must be a weird one, given that I have literally never voted for a Democrat in my life and I regularly criticize communists. I swear, sometimes I feel like this site is becoming too much of an echo chamber where anyone who is not actually right-wing is assumed to have leftist sympathies or whatever. I hate the woke, but that doesn't mean that I want to support what seem to me like weird, ideologically fervent right-wingers who are displaying the same sort of authoritarian tendencies, tribal emotionality, and lust for conquest that the woke displayed.

Seeing this guy wake up to the reality of the pseudo-intellectuallism of the crowd he hangs out with sure is something.

Virtually the only aspect of the bill rights in tact is the provision against quartering troops in people's homes.

They violated that too with Covid rent moratorium.

My favorite part of the pandemic was stories about marauding gangs of redcoats stealing people's homes in exchange for no pay. :marseyredcoat:
