Par for the course really, these sort of room-temp-iq people only do two things: work, and seek mindless entertainment. Learning for the sake of it (i.e. reading nonfiction), or seeking out capital-a Art for higher order pleasure (i.e. reading good fiction) is not something their brains, on a very fundamental level, value - if their brains need to work, they're suffering. And it applies to everything: they drink milkshakes instead of actual coffee, sugary "cocktails" instead of anything subtle, go to Disneyland as adults instead of traveling to see the world, it goes on and on and on.
