Meanwhile the only thing our gov did was massively expand the federal gov. We need DOGE more than US

Since 2015, employment in the federal public service has increased by an astounding 38.9%. This is more than quadruple the growth of nurses, teachers, and police officers, and almost triple that of the private sector over that same period

https://businesscouncilab.com/insights-category/economic-insights/canadas-bureaucracy-has-grown-massively-in-recent-years/

β€”-

There are now 39,089 federal employees at Employment and Social Development Canada, up 80 per cent from 2015. Meanwhile, total employment in Canada across all industries is up only 15 per cent. Why do we need 80 per cent more bureaucrats to regulate and centrally plan employment in Canada when total employment is only up 15 per cent?

Next, consider the agriculture sector. From 2015 to 2024, the headcount at the federal department of Agriculture and Agri-Food increased 11 per cent while total employment in agriculture fell 18 per cent. That's 11 per cent more agricultural bureaucrats and central planners while the number of people actually producing agricultural goods is down 18 per cent.

Considering dairy in particular, there are now 75 people employed at the Canadian Dairy Commission, up 34 per cent versus 2015. Meanwhile the number of dairy cows in Canada as of 2023 (the latest year of available data) is only up two per cent versus 2015, and the number of farms that ship milk is actually down 20 per cent. So, 34 per cent more dairy bureaucrats versus two per cent more dairy cows and 20 per cent fewer dairy farms.

Maybe those sectors we're underemployed before?

And, with ~20 million people in the Canadian workforce, that's still 500 people per ESDC employee.

Food for thought: If I have one of something and then get another one, I now have 100% more of that thing than I did before.

Yes, I'm sure the government of all sectors was underemployed.

sick 10 case allocation of cauliflower there. real talk if you guys want to know why grocery stores lose so much money it's shit like this, of all the dumb shit I've heard from execs and store directors the obsession with how stuff looks over the quality of said stuff or the shrink profile is wild.

"hey guys let's put 10 cases of a highly perishable product out of refrigeration because it looks cool., sure we sell 2 cases a day but so what."

same for that 3+ case allocation of pink lady apples there, worst apple in the world, bruises easily, low seller. thats why they still have them, because nobody fricking buys them and you throw 70% of them away.

I've always heard the produce section operated at a loss to get people to the middle isles where the profit was. I didn't realize they operated at a loss due to their own r-sluration. :marseyxd:

ive never seen produce run at a loss but the margins are very tight, it is however true produce is an influencer department meaning most people pick a store to shop at based on the produce.

ive gotten into it with people several times over shrink - just absoltuely r-slurred display plans from the main office that make no coherent sense, it's like they don't understand whats happening.

No, it isn't a good idea to run a giant plantain display when the entire district sells basically no plantains.

these are the same people that came at me for running unapproved sales on honeyglow pineapple after they sent out massive DBs to every store. if i didn't do what i did the company would have lost a ton of money.

What the frick is wrong with you. If this is a joke, this is not funny at all, and if anyone of you find this funny, you should be ashamed. I'm sure you are all just a bunch of fat, lonely, fatherless fricks that think making "edgy jokes" and annoying people is funny and makes you unique. You are all sick fricks, I really hope that when you die (pls let that be soon by keep yourself safe), the only thing that waits for you is the darkest pit of heck and eternal suffering. Now go cry with your moms, oh shit, i forgot, she doesn't even want to see your face because she is so fricking disappointed of the child she gave birth to and raised. Good thing she is going to have another, and spoiler alert, the father is me. Frick you.
