Exhibit B of "tell me you don't read the NT or OT, without telling me you don't read the Bible."I did not notice the multiple exhortations in the OT and NT about only caring for Christian poor. It always said "poor, widow, orphan, and alien (aka immigrant)." It never specified the recipients must identify as Israelite/Christian. I suppose you could raise Acts 6 and Rahab/Esther of the OT as arguments for limiting charity to "in groups," but the very existence of Christianity's popularity during the early church period was because they cared for the needy regardless of in-group status.The Bible (Matt 25:31-46) also says there are self-professing "christians" who are not true Christians. It specifically calls out people who do not care for the poor and needy. (6)
