>Now they know how Democrat politicians and Dem appointed judges have been feeling. Trump has made violence against those you don't agree with acceptable, if not commendable. It's similar to him threatening military action against countries who won't willingly let him buy them or just downright take them and their natural resources. Are you questioning what you've created GOP? Voting a certain way because you fear harm from constituents in your own party shows the world that, besides Musk, MAGA calls the shots.
bro is 64 and still posting shit like this...
this fella is fun...

>I set my filters to show me stuff that has -9 karma, they can't hide shit from me.
>Also: sub-reddits. You do know we have white-power types in our midsts, right? They have their space, we have ours. I don't go there, they don't pollute my space.
>Sub-reddits must make it really hard to shut up people you disagree with.
oh they are probably dead...last post 5 years ago...
>Yeah, this "thing" I just got the exciting experience of being triaged right to the front of ER line with a perforated ulcer. I know my alcohol intake contributed to the condition. So abdominal surgery, repaired intestines etc. I spent a week in hospital, no drinking or smoking, and really no cravings Weird. Yet my first stop out of the hospital was the beer store.... I should really be doing things differently, but ...I wonder where my sense of self-preservation is failing in this... Yeah?
was it really that bad...i was an anonymous 4chan hacker before getting a job...thats when i got on digg...but just laughed at memes and found cool websites...sfw shit...
OP
>I definitely have more success on the subreddits, and submit to them more now. Especially political links relevant to specific states that I'll now submit to that state's subreddits. However, I am a heavy /r/politics submitter and that's the site that will get your stuff seen. I post links because I want them to be viewed by the largest audience possible, and you have to go to the bigger sites for that.
imagine being 50 and posting this, and being 64 and still fighting the batlle jfc...
>After the last election many repugs realized they did not understand this "new" media called the Internet (AKA a series of tubes). They have worked very hard at trying to gain control of the dialog on the Internet and the only problem for them has that the Internet lets an individual retort. With TV and radio they get to bombard someone with half-facts, lies, edits, and all this filled with emotive speech. You can do the same on the Internet of course, but people can point out the falsehoods and manipulations.
people were writing articles lmao i was goofing off on feministing, toplessrobot, and cracked...

god i wish they have made a new account and witness this garbage...
>[–][deleted] 10 points 14 years ago
>this isn't exactly a surprise . I hope reddit will nullify much of their influence, as they were a big reason digg turned into a shit hole (mass burying of stories, burying of opinions they didn't like, harassment, etc).

Digg died because Reddit had more community features like subreddits. digg was quite literally just a content aggregator + comment board which added a few categories. V4 was launched to compete with reddit and was a buggy shit show:
https://web.archive.org/web/20100601092755/http://alexisohanian.com/an-open-letter-to-kevin-rose
It in many ways was reddit before reddit. It was killed by users selling accounts and engagement. By power tripping mods and cordinated user campaigns to push political agendas, and by a corporatization which led to a new buggy ui with features cloned from other sites.

Digg V4 killed it overnight. If i remember correctly V4 made powerusers and admin the dictators of what people would see, organic promotion of content by updoots (digging) became secondary. People revolted and everyone migrated to reddit (at the time much smaller than digg) in about a week or so.

Pretty much, it was one of the first platforms to basically let companies "sponsor" top results. They even removed the downmarsey button.

Nah, that's just the usual effort to rewrite history with modern politics at the front. There were a bunch of different vote brigades going on, bit the thing that really killed the site was the redesign effectively making votes irrelevant, whatever jannies and admins wanted at the top was put there artificially.

I saw somewhere that the new version they rolled out also deleted all archives, so posters lost the sense of history they had attached to the site because it had been wiped out. So it was a lot easier to abandon.
I'm sure there were many reasons, that was just one I heard that you didn't mention.

If they slowly pretended it was organic content and that upmarseys did something, they would still be around.

I remember using Digg for a bit during some bullshit elective computer class when i was a kid in school. It died because of the redesign it was so incredibly bad. I deff do not remember it being close to far right whatsoever, it was the exact same as pre-2012 lolbert ice soap 2 am chilli advice animal reddit.

Digg collapsed because their approach to end power users, the precursor to jannies, was to end the social part of their social media aggregate site.
