When I'm looking through a 20 page journal article in 10pt font or a spreadsheet thats hundreds by hundreds of cells, it's easier to have the page already scrolled to where you need when you come back. Also I can keep things in better order so I have a window for a certain topic and then I can order the tabs in the order I'll go through them.
