also I work like 220 days/year at my current white-collar job. 260 days is literally a five-day work week with zero vacation and zero holidays of any kind (not even christmas off).

lmao what? I can apply to work basically anywhere I want. The decision of whether or not that employer offers me a job is between the employer and I and not the government. Only time the government gets involved is stuff like not allowing children to work, or if you need some kind of security clearance (ie defense industry). But the vast majority of jobs that doesn't apply to.
