A couple weeks ago I got put on a team with two twelve year olds and a black guy, and they spent the entire game hurling racial slurs at him while he called them virgins and told them he fricked their mom's and was probably their dad. NPCs derive literally all of their self-worth from how society perceives them rather than the actual impact that they have on the world. So virtue-signalling by yelling angrily at anybody who uses racial slurs will always be more appealing to NPCs than having a reasonable conversation with those people and actually changing their minds. The appearance of being a good person will always be far more important to NPCs than actually making the world a better place. That's why NPCs have no real moral value and a well-designed system of ethics will treat them as the XP farm that they are, instead of fully ensouled human beings.

This guy made literally zero positive impact on the world. He didn't reduce the amount of total racism, he didn't change any hearts and minds, all he did was get a small emotional rush by being able to smugly tell himself what a good and virtuous person he is. But hey, at least he got laid by his NPC wife. Maybe he was just pretending to be an NPC to get some booty? I hope that's why he did it and that he doesn't have the delusion that he actually accomplished anything useful for the anti-racism cause.
