no one would notice the traffic

This is unironically true. Not long after I moved there it took over 3(!!!!!!) hours to get from Van Nuys back to Marina Del Rey. This is longer than usual but not by a ton and not at all uncommon.

For non-LAcels, Van Nuys and MDR are about 20 miles apart.

Not in almost a decade. It was the fricking best at the time but I don’t see it ever recapturing the spirit of the early 2010s again, especially not with today’s sociopolitical shitshow.

NGL the last 10 years have seriously fricked SoCal. Both my parents lived there before I was born so I’d go there yearly with them to visit their friends and it was always hella fun.

I’d asked if I’m from LA on voice chat in videogames in high school. Maybe its my vernacular? 🤷‍♂️

Lol it was good in the 90s, when we would watch friends and make fun of their shitty city

I commuted from Montclair (massive mistake, frick Montclair) to Anaheim. Unironically cancelled my lease and just lived at the hospital because the commute was hours for 30 miles. The 57 south made me want to keep myself safe.

Fricking Inland Empire is awful.

I liked California but inland Empire is objectively worse than most places and it’s where you’re condemned to live unless you want to pay 4k a month for a 1br 1bath in Santa Ana lmao

Boomers fricking destroyed California with Proposition 13. It’s funny to think of the radlibs that are like “We all have to pay our fair share!” and then are like “Noooo not my property taxerinos on my 4 million dollar inheritied home in Santa Monica” :soycry:

The fact that they can port their low taxes to other homes at 55 is fricking insane. It’s essentially a landchad (and no one else’s) paradise.

I'd be pissed if i lived in a part of America where every major street/city/county name was Spanish. I'd have to affect a Spanish accent to say the street name, or say it straight in my Midwestern accent. Ether way I'd sound like a jackass gringo
