Seems like an accomplished composer, but what's this on Wendy Carlo's personal website stating

Please be aware there’s a purported β€œBiography” on me just released. It belongs on the fiction shelf. No one ever interviewed me, nor anyone I know. There's zero fact-checking. Don’t recognize myself anywhere in thereβ€”weird. Sloppy, dull and dubious, it's hardly an objective academic study as it pretends to be.

So over here Grace only came out as transgender after 30 years in the spotlight. It seems to me her success had in no part anything to do with her "womanhood".

This part just confuses me. Their album was released in 2003, after which Grace did copious amounts of drugs and s*x, and only in 2009 "knew she was a woman". It seems to me, based on the timeline alone, it was more a chance that long-term drug usage caused her "gender dysphoria" than her actually having it and using the drugs and s*x to cope

lol yeah I'm pretty sure that they just chose books about the most famous trans womxn they could think of. Laverne Cox is the one on Orange Is the New Black, there's one about the Matrix twins, etc. It definitely seems to be focused on ones in the entertainment industry.
