Dying in Stalingrad conditions definitely devoutly to be wished, but this feels like like Russia/Finland shit.

Finland had K/D 5-7 and Soviet Union had bigger army but today’s war Ukraine has bigger army and even by most optimistic stats their K/D is 1,1 and if you count civilians than their K/D is negative. Also Ukraine lost way more tech than Russia.

1-1 is not great for a "far superior" military. Even the US in Vietnam had a KD of something like 20-1, and they lost that war.

I did not bother to look this up so could be wildly wrong here

Russian limiting them self, they could just bomb and then napalm everything. But they are trying to minimum the civilian deaths. The more civilian will be exported to Germany the heavier weapons Russia is going to use. So it’s kinda bs when news telling Russian don’t want to let civilian out of the cities. If a city was only with soldiers they would been free to use chemical weapons

I don't think it was as high as 20-1 but the general premise is right. US absolutely crushed the vietnamese in kill ratio.

Ukraine has 900,000 reserves so theoretically they would have a lot more men. But I've got no idea how many they actually managed to mobilize.

Mobilize? Honestly they probably just throw a gun into every free hand they can. Or at least they ought to.

That's what they've started doing a little while back, and what makes me suspect Zelensky is not planning to win the war anymore. A lot of that weaponry has allegedly already coagulated in the hands of organized crime and other gangbangers. They are gonna be a massive pain in the butt for whoever owns Ukraine by the end of this, for decades probably.

Somebody in the future might possibly commit a CRIME in Ukraine???????!!??!??!??

Russia has 1.2 mil in active service, tf you talking about a lot more.

Russia's army has shrunk dramatically over the last several years as they hoped to have smaller but more competent force. Let's see what the glowies say in the CIA World Factbook, since you can unironically trust them more about this stuff than anyone else:

information varies; approximately 850,000 total active duty troops (300,000 Ground Troops; 40,000 Airborne Troops; 150,000 Navy; 160,000 Aerospace Forces; 70,000 Strategic Rocket Forces; approximately 20,000 special operations forces; approximately 100,000 other uniformed personnel (command and control, cyber, support, logistics, security, etc.); estimated 200-250,000 Federal National Guard Troops (2021)

So this is maybe about 400,000 ground troops plus about 250,000 MVD gendarmes/thugs. And they have a lot of other responsibilities. They have to pose a credible threat to fight another war with Georgia, be ready to go into Central Asia to prop up their clients, patrol all the borders of a huge country, and beat down all the opposition from Putin's real and imagined opponents inside the country.

All those words to agree with me that Russia has 1.2 mil in active service :marseyyawn:

Is it the National Guard specifically fighting in Ukraine or am I not following?

Ukrainians claiming 12000+ dead yesterday but I think everyone has stopped believing those numbers now.

The image seems to indicate anywhere between 1:1.5 to 1:3

1:1 k/d ratio honestly wouldn't make any sense taking into account that one side is defending and the other one sent conscripts as the first wave.
