I lied on my Tax Return. What are the chances I'm gonna get audited and assraped

I made about $14k USD last year. I did dabble in stocks and crypto (and lost $8k) but due to the wash sale rule I couldn't even get the max $3k deduction. So for my crypto stuff I just lied by filing as a single statement instead of a summary of statements, added the deposits together as the cost basis, then added the withdrawals together as the proceeds. So I now have the max $3k capital loss deduction.

Because I'm a poorcel, surely they won't find out. Right? All this did was increase my refund by about $200 USD.

Probably nothing. The IRS is actually r-slurred and never caught anything I've ever done. As long as you're under like 100k a year they never double check you.

Thank God... I was pacing around the room worrying myself sick

It's not guaranteed but is it accepted? I keep forgetting to report stuff sometimes. Like once I forgot I had youtube money in excess of a thousand dollars that I recently got all at once the year before. They never cared. One time I forgot to put in a certain crypto website's earnings, but they also accepted that even though the earnings were like 2000 dollars. It's strange

I just got a text a few minutes ago that my refund was indeed accepted. Weird that it was so quick, because I had only submitted it maybe 30 minutes prior. But I need to mail the IRS a print copy of the summary of statements for my stock losses.

You need to go to the "Where's my refund" IRS page and input your stuff. I got an email that mine was accepted but on further inspection it was not. Some tax programs jump the gun big time.

No the IRS is just getting faster. It's not my imagination. Years ago it would take a week to get accepted, last year it took 5 hours. This year it took an hour. Yeah just send them an envelope or box of your printed PDF from your broker. Remember to write said container exactly what's inside so the IRS knows what to do with it. Like name/address/irs reference number whatever else I forget. Otherwise they'll have to open it to figure out where to send it. Worse case scenario you just pretend to be r-slurred and didn't know what happened. They're not going to r*pe a poorcel they just want their money.

@UninformedHypocrite @AnnoyinTheGoyim @high_side @Ghislaine_Maxwell @Enrico_Motassa

What are the chances that I will get audited regardless because I posted this here and a lurker will send a tip to the IRS. Would they be able to find me considering that this account isn't tied to my real identity? Kinda worried now because @JoyceCarolOates screenshotted the IRS whistleblower program.

Should I scrub this post now?

I mean why would post on an account that's doxxable

Honestly I thought it was semi-ironic at first, but I think he just wanted legit advice at this point and I feel bad for taking it lightly.

What if they just referenced this post? The IRS wouldn't be able to trace me right?

i've reported you to the irs, fbi, nsa, dea, and usps. Prepare for life in prison, chud.

Is this bait? I mean are you even doxxable here? Like is your account connected to your name in any way? I'm just asking.

Snappy already sent the info to the feds. There's no escape.

But yeah there's functionally no chance of you being prosecuted or anything, it's literally just 200$, they have bigger fishes to catch than a random poorcel gambling half of his yearly money away

Also I agree with federico, if it makes you that worried, delete the post. You really shouldn't be posting this unironic stuff here to begin with. You know how many people got busted (for far more serious crimes) due to their stupid shitposting habits?

If you're really worried about it, kill the post. But the likelihood that anything would come from this is really minimal unless you happened to piss off a sperg on here who also knows who you are IRL and works for the IRS (basically zero chance).

The irs isn't going to launch a manhunt for a poor based on a tip that just points to a rando on a forum full of shitposters. Do you know how many "taxation is theft" tards they have to deal with this time of year?

It wouldn't hurt if you added bussy to the post tho.

Jokes aside, for 200$ they ain't lifting their asses from the chair. But don't be caught tripping too many times. If you are massively unlucky, they'll probably just issue you to pay what is owed and maybe make you wet your pants to scare you into behaving.

There’s a sweet spot for the IRS to target, you have to make enough to be able to pay the penalties but not so much that you can afford to fight it. Or just be a political enemy of the dems.

Yeah if you're poor they don't bother unless it's a slam dunk.

This is false. I messed up a return about 10 years ago and they sent me a bill 2 years later for like $80.

The bastards are double checking me right now even under 20k. I had 3 W2s and a 1099 with some deductions. Delayed 😒

Did you claim a home office? I was told that increases your chance of an audit. I legit work 100% from home, but a lot of people try to claim it even though they only have a little side business they do after hours.

I kept getting hit with those darn CP2000 notices over my tuition. Every year I'd send the same reply, but the followup varied between $0, $370, and $1800 owed. Followup reply saying "this same thing happened last year, why do i still owe 1800 this year" dropped it to 0

(Tldr: paid tuition to an apprenticeship bureau, who paid the college on my behalf. When i claimed that tuition, IRS bounced back that the college had no record of me paying that, their 1099 would only show secondary classes i directly paid for like first aid)
