Men pretend to be strong and stoic and rich and etc for all the same reasons. I've been learning Spanish for a while now and one thing I've noticed with native speakers is they get mad if you start speaking Spanish without asking first. Something about it seems like you're assuming that they can't speak English, I guess. Whatever. The point is I'm going to make sure I use latinx next time someone bitches about it so I can really piss them off.

I worked with the japanese for years and they get pissed and offended if you remotely try to speak any of it to them while they are in the U.S. they even speak English to each other in one on one conversations. They take it as an offense as being to dumb to adapt.
