Using "big words" either instantly makes even the most educated but well adjusted people youre talking to not like you because they think you're testing them or that you're being pretentious (which 99% of the time the people using them are).

See the fact that you don't realize that they used to call more complex words " $5 words" as in educated and book learned proves my point.
