It is common knowledge in the church community that the second any church ignores the word of God in favor of their own political opinion the church quickly grows stagnant, dies spiritually, and then closes as people leave and not enough regulars with a will to donate to the Lord come and fill the void. This is happening a lot recently as more and more churches start viewing LGBT Christians as normal and not brothers and sisters struggling with sexual immorality. Before this it was allowing women in positions of power in the church outside of what the Bible sets as the roles for men and women in the congregation.

there is for sure. the fact that such laws were recorded in the first place, and had to exist for Israel to exist, shows that the old testament was mostly the product of nomadic people trying to create an identity for themselves. now i could probably get into an argument with a Christian over this though because there is a lot of doctrine that goes into all of this, which is what makes redditors so ill-equipped to argue with Christians.
