Ruddit: Norms of Offensiveness for English Reddit Comments :marseysoylentgrin:

https://aclanthology.org/2021.acl-long.210

Ruddit is a dataset of English language Reddit comments that has fine-grained, real-valued scores for offensive language detection between -1 (maximally supportive) and 1 (maximally offensive).

The dataset was annotated using Best--Worst Scaling, a form of comparative annotation that has been shown to alleviate known biases of using rating scales.

One of my first reddit accounts ("itsfineitsgreat") was cited as a toxic user in some paper by a university in Texas in like 2015.

Not my fault redditors are dumb kids who act smug about shit they have no idea about, and are just as cultish in their politics as the people they hate.

I guess it's my fault I make fun of people like that but oh well

I wonder how that filter would actually work out. Among Americans, you'd probably keep Jews, Mexicans, various flavors of Asians, and various rich people who tagged along with their executive parents. Maybe military brats are kept too, but mostly language would filter out most poorer Americans. For Leafs, you'd be left with WORST Leafs. Aussies and Kiwis are probably purged, so maybe it's worth it. IDK about Brits, probably most of them purged, but the rest of Europe probably stays.
