Texas wonders if it should keep it's power grid and deport the rest of America in 2023.

This is the ultimate move to end the hustle and bustle menace:

Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana & Florida would make a great country. Oil, gas, agriculture, ports. Everything you need.

3/4 of California too. Carve out LA, SF and SD and leave those for the left. The rest of us would be on board.

It's not my fault you're too lazy to start your own country:

If Texas secedes, Republicans will never win the White House again. We need Texas's electoral votes to help offset the automatic California and New York electoral votes that the Dems get.

Sounds like a personal problem. Texans deserve the right to secede. If you don’t like it, secede yourself or move to Texas.

There's no right to secession. Constitutional republic, representative democracy, pick your colloquialism, it's all Federalism in the end. This has already been decided once before.

Rightoids now in favour of aborting helpless, infantile things:

DC, IL, MN, OR, WA, MI, PA, MA, MD, NoVa need to be added to that list. These states are consumers and long ago stopped adding to the nation... Except debt, crime and bad policy.

I'm not sure if any of these Twitterinos have actually thought this through:

Seriously though NH has been trying to secede from the Union for years. Think about the Power those 3 states would have. The biggest Militia, plenty of space to grow food as well as other raw goods and energy. We would be a powerhouse of a Union!

Wrong. Texas companies corporations like SpaceX, Tesla, Hp, would no longer pay a federal tax to the us treasury. The revenue flow would invert.

DDD is the rightoid version of Voldemort except they see voting for someone else as a battle:

I'm not sure about this. Don't we need Texas and Florida fighting against Brandon's regime and setting an example. What happens when Texas succeeds against the United States.

It'll never be allowed by the feds, but if the rightoids put a referendum on the ballot it'll probably get 50%+

Tbh I doubt it would, almost all Dems would vote against it and I would bet that a significant portion of Republicans would too. Regardless, if they ever really tried to secede from the US it would mean war

It would mean a brief (but rather violent) police operation. Can't call this shit a war - you need a proper opponent for that...

Yet another example of leftists having dreams about crushing their ‘opponents’ without knowing the first thing about the military (or war, guns, or police, or anything really). Please tell me how and why you would expect the United States to declare war after this theoretical secession? A considerable chunk of the military and leaders are Texans, and plenty of the rest would hold sympathies to the Texan cause. The most the US would do is cut of trade and attempt to make secession financially impossible, which is a far cry from ‘violent’.

Texas would crush itself. 🏀, latinx, and obese rightoids would be duking it out fiercely and r-slurredly. Uncle Sam would then swoop in to bring in order.

the Supreme Court affirmed that secession is gay and illegal more than 100 years ago

Ok? I didn’t deny that. What I said any action the US takes against the theoretical secession isn’t going to be ‘violent’

Oh yeah, the Texans would get crushed extremely quickly lmao. I'm pretty sure we settled the issue of secession ~160 years ago anyways

When, therefore, Texas became one of the United States, she entered into an indissoluble relation. All the obligations of perpetual union, and all the guaranties of republican government in the Union, attached at once to the State. The act which consummated her admission into the Union was something more than a compact; it was the incorporation of a new member into the political body. And it was final. The union between Texas and the other States was as complete, as perpetual, and as indissoluble as the union between the original States. There was no place for reconsideration or revocation, except through revolution or through consent of the States.[8]

it'll probably get 50%+

LOL what!? Frick no it wouldn't. I doubt it would broach 10%.

Winner take all elections provide a very distorted perception of the political makeup of our states.

Rightoids basically only consume those super misleading electoral maps and don't understand the actual reality at all.

I doubt Brexit would ever get 10% :clueless:

But seriously, the real figure would likely be between you two. You don’t know Texans f you don’t think at least 30% of us wouldn’t vote for this

I've lived in Texas for most of my life. I don't remember genuine secession advocacy ever bring more than a fringe opinion. I seem to remember the polls being around 10% a decade ago, but that was a different time. I suppose I could see a lot of Texans choosing it in this climate as a "frick you".

They literally tried that exact thing about 150 years ago. Got waaaaaaaay more than 50%+ on the ballot. Did not turn out well for them, lol. Why in the frick would they think that it would work out any differently now with just Texas alone? Couple hundred r-slurs would go to ADX Florence, and Texas would briefly become a territory (guaranteeing dems presidency, yes). Great plan!

Why in the frick would they think that it would work out any differently now with just Texas alone?

Because Texas schools teach Texas exceptionalism and Texans drink that shit up like Bud Light at a tailgate. They believe their own hype, and are basically detached from reality in a lot of ways.
