Actually, he later admits to not having enough attention for Goosebumps. He only started reading them in his 30s, and he's only been able to read two of them.
What I'm trying to say is that there is a 300% chance that he will be executing kindergarteners within a week.
>literature sub that thinks he is actively reading Goosebumps.
If you scroll through any of the book/literature subs that aren't niche you'll find plenty of posts perfectly demonstrating the infantilization of the modern adult.
Seriously. People calling manga reading. People considering Harry Potter adult literature. People complaining classics don't adhere to modern political views. Grown men asking for "adult" YA. It goes well beyond anti-intellectualism and straight into what I call perpetual childhood. It doesn't help that a lot of people can't even read many classics if they wanted to. I don't know how much of this is due to the education system and how much is due to culture but it's depressing.
People donβt have the attention spans for it anymore. Thatβs why audiobooks have made such a splash in the demographics old enough to still care about books.

I can't imagine listening to an audiobook and being beholden to the pacing of someone else. Especially given I'm usually reading Stephen King so I skim half the book

I know it's a million word post, but there's a worrying amount of posts for a literature sub that thinks he is actively reading Goosebumps.

When I was 9, slappy the dummy was the scariest monster to me. Something about the way he just bullied those kids and made them look crazy.
