The problem of evil - Why does an all powerful, all good God allow evil to persist?

We've discussed the problem of evil for millennia, but its longevity shows it can't be easily dismissed, either. There are many approaches, but ultimately all depend on things we can't truly know.

My perspective is that existence, life, consciousness, creation, experience, etc. are in themselves good, and the fact that we belong to a universe of these things is sufficient to worship God as the ultimate good. But God is still sovereign over bad things that may happen, and they don't all need to have a clear greater purpose. It's okay to be angry at God, so long as we ultimately submit to him.

How do you folx respond to this issue?

Because life is a crucible. Only through the purifying act of struggling against evil can we prove the strength of our spirit and faith. Life is a test, and how can you pass without being tested?

Kind of a silly thing if he knew what would happen before putting you in the crucible.
