are the stats about men getting partial custody when they actually pursue it fake or something?
i talked about it with a really misogynistic friend and they never doubted the veracity of that claim, just said that men might be sad about getting divorced so they don't pursue custody lol also said fighting it in court is expensive but if you take it to court right away wouldn't she have to spend the same on lawyers and stuff if she wanted to contest ur claim? rly don't know

AFAIK yes because men usually only pursue when they think it's a guanteed win. Since if they lose they generally have to pay court fees for the mother as well

that's fair, makes sense. i kinda think people should still try though. i don't have kids but the only time i could imagine not bankrupting myself for them if i did would be if i was already completely broke, even then i think i'd probably still put myself in debt if it was for my family
