:marseylaugh: Servers seeking more tip money stage walkout during dinner rush, get fired, seethe about it in newspaper

https://www.seattletimes.com/life/food-drink/one-seattle-restaurant-staffs-walk-out-opens-the-question-how-should-a-tip-pool-be-distributed

There is no tip credit (where restaurant workers make like $2.75/hr with tips making up the difference to bring them to minimum wage) in WA state, so any tips are just icing on an already generous cake in Seattle. Servercels BTFO eternally.

Thanks team 👍

Explain to me, like I'm 5, why f.o.h. should make more than b.o.h.? Do they work harder? Is their rent more expensive? Or is it because they are Caucasian while the b.o.h. is Mexican?

How do they know they're mexican?

Great, so they'll be getting rid of the tipping model and paying their workers liveable wages?

Servers don't want to get rid of tipping because they make so much more money from it then they would if it wasn't a thing

I’m disappointed about this happening,” Kurofsky said. “I believe strongly in our model and paying people as much as we can.”

Now I’m seething. /r/seattle r-slurs probably think servers are just barely making it to minimum wage, when in reality a non-:marseygigaretard: server can easily clear $100k/yr.
