>I struggle with the desire to obtain fancy electronics

>Hey y’all. Been a minimalist for about two years now, and really enjoy it. I’ve done several item purges, and enjoyed what I do have.

>Here’s where I’m struggling.

>still can’t seem to shake the desire to want a new laptop, iPad, Apple Watch, I always fall into the shiny new technologist trap that I know would make my life more complicated.

I give myself carte blanche to buy one new iSomething each year AT THE MOST.

I literally bought a new iPad mini yesterday (to replace my first gen Mini, from 2012). Next year I MIGHT replace my MacBook (from 2015).

I typically use by annual “permission” on AirPods, iPhones, or Pencils 🤷🏻‍♀️

You were being generous with every other year lmfao...beyond parody
