Most principled minimalist

>I struggle with the desire to obtain fancy electronics

>Hey y’all. Been a minimalist for about two years now, and really enjoy it. I’ve done several item purges, and enjoyed what I do have.

>Here’s where I’m struggling.

>still can’t seem to shake the desire to want a new laptop, iPad, Apple Watch, I always fall into the shiny new technologist trap that I know would make my life more complicated.

AND a compatible wireless charger, true minimalists also minimize the amount of actions they do during the day. Why waste that on plugging in the phone

I give myself carte blanche to buy one new iSomething each year AT THE MOST.

I literally bought a new iPad mini yesterday (to replace my first gen Mini, from 2012). Next year I MIGHT replace my MacBook (from 2015).

I typically use by annual “permission” on AirPods, iPhones, or Pencils 🤷🏻‍♀️

You were being generous with every other year lmfao...beyond parody

Minimalism is only cool when you're rich as frick and could buy whatever you want but don't because it shows willpower.

Being poor and subscribing to minimalism is a cope.

>No ps5. Yes fountain pen

Got this new young brotha working for me, hungry dude, really motivated, very engaged, but I'm starting to think he might be some coon redditor.

He is obsessed over his fricking pen, at first I was like yeah man that's a cool pen. Then he said just write with it and you'll see, I wrote with it and I didn't see a difference.

Everybody that he was telling about his pen was lying to him about it, because I used it and it was just like a normal pen.

I told him that and he got real offended, kinda had a minor spergout defending the pen. I don't think it's a fountain pen, just a regular ball point.

I try to keep my EQ in check when dealing with young guys, but I'm not gonna lie to a neighbor bout a pen.
