r/Neoliberal rages hard :marseywitchtriggered: about Biden's recent student loan cancellation

If you've got federal student loans and/or Pell Grants and make less than $125,000 a year single/$250,000 a year joint, congratulations! If you're an /r/neoliberal user, though, you may feel differently.

From the title: "I unironically would support impeaching Biden over this... Bad timing though, Dems may lose a lot of swing voters over this."

Another user expresses his disgust with the Democrat Party: "Suppose I’m politically homeless now."

A "big moderate" weighs in: "Going to probably vote GOP next election to express my displeasure at this."

"On the one hand, it's pretty dumb that people seem to think Biden is doing this to appease twitter leftists, when the reason he's doing it is because the NAACP, Raphael Warnock, Jim Clyburn, the Congressional Black Caucus, the Congressional Latinx Caucus, and other key Democratic stakeholders have been arguing for $10K in forgiveness (or more). On the other hand, it's really funny that some people on here seem genuinely betrayed because they think Biden has sided with bernie bros over them."

"A deplorable handout rewarding financial mismanagement. It makes a fool out of the responsible people who paid off their loans instead of buying video games and the newest iPhone." :soyconsoomer:

"I am seething. This sucks so bad. Literally taking from the poor and giving to the rich" :marseypoor: β†’ :marseycapitalistmanlet:

"I hope it hurts in the midterms. Buying votes is one of the most dangerous trends in a democracy, and this shit needs to be stopped now."

"You live in a truly insane bubble if you think this will hurt Democrats politically."

"Still seems fricked to me. My step dad who didn’t give a frick about me and didn’t help me made plenty of money. But because i lived in his house, i didn’t get any grants, just loans, and he didn’t give me a penny."

"My parents worked very hard, saved diligently and made huge sacrifices in order to put us through higher education without debts. Can we be "forgiven" $10,000 also, for each child? That money could sure be put towards my parents' retirement. Or are we obliged to pay $10,000 extra, to cover for poorer kids going to university to mostly do useless degrees?"

"I'd have preferred a much more means tested policy, perhaps aimed just at those who make below 50k or 25k rather than 125k"

"r/neoliberal: Actually everyone with a college diploma has at least 3 yachts and a summer home in the Hamptons" :marseycope:

And much more in the SRDine thread writeup.

I have, several times. You are delusional if you think the largest counties in America, counties in which democrats win by 70% are funded by republicans.

You'd have to be a literal r-slur to believe this.
