It's a funny thing about the current generation of these AIs: pretty much the main thing their tuning focuses on is preventing overfitting. You don't want the robot to memorize everything it saw on the internet and spitting it back literally, you reduce its size until it's forced to generalize.

A side effect of that is that when you ask a GPT a fact based question, like, the average size of a clit or something, then unless it's a really common knowledge it just makes up a plausibly-sounding lie. A very plausibly sounding lie. Which is why despite tremendous progress we don't actually see them used for anything serious, like personal assistants or whatever. Copilot excluded because of reasons.
