This is some solid /h/peakpoors content. A lot of /h/peakeuropoors it seems.

I wasn't able to purchase a steamdeck due to a bunch of life changes and a car accident. I realized I needed to save money instead of dropping nearly 700 on another piece of tech. Yes it sucks, yes I'll have to wait, but hanging out here, talking to my friends about it, and slowly buying games for the deck will make it all the more worth it when I get it.

:marseygigaretard:

I’m a week to week guy and trying to curb the habit but yes it was annoying to only have three days and not near a payday to buy the darn thing. What’s funny IMO is yes I’m a piss poor saver but I’ll buy my phone bill for six months in advance because I know I am. I’ll prepay anything because I hate shit tapping my bank and we live in a subscription based, pay per month society.

I prepay for things because I have absolutely no concept of money.

Listen buddy.

I reserved last year had the money and set it aside.

In that year I had two unexpected flat tires, some surprise medical bills etc.

It’s been a fricking roller coaster in my savings account.

And the frustrating bit, more that three times I had the money set aside. I’d expect that a lot of people have the money when they pre-order but life happens.

Somehow in that final window I hustled and scraped enough together to make it happen, but even then three times this last year I had to let go and accept I wouldn’t get a Deck. It sucks guarding $600 for an entire year.

I don’t have sympathy for people who are looking for a handout. But the reality is that a supply chain issue hard locked $600 of my dollars for a year and caused a significant amount of hassle.

God darn dude it's only $600. I'd almost feel sorry for these people if they weren't going to spend the money on some stupid gaming console the second they could.

If you only have $1800 you really shouldn't be spending 1/3rd of that on a toy holy shit
