Here is a list of things that /r/starbucks employees complain about

I have developed a minor obsession with /r/starbucks because it's full of people who truly hate every part of their jobs. One day I might even go into a Starbucks IRL and order a pumpkin spice latte. Here are ten things that Starbucks employees hate:

  1. When customers ask for a straw

  2. When customers don't know the exact terminology (and of course the staff don't clarify)

  3. Being misgendered by customers who get their gender wrong when they're facing away

  4. Not being able to wear whatever they want

  6. I'm not really sure what they're complaining about because it's super long and doesn't have paragraphs

  7. When customers wait for their food

Speaking of sugar regulations, we (Chicago) had a "sweetened beverage tax" for a short amount of time that taxed stuff with added sugars/sweeteners. There were many r-slurred facets to the tax, but one fun one was that Starbucks bribed some local pols to ensure that they were more or less explicitly exempt from the tax, because they "made your beverage" or something.

Anyways a nationwide tax on sugary drinks would unironically help reduce our spiraling obesity issue, but Americans will never go for it.
