A man in the capital city of Uttar Pradesh, India, has died after the driver of a private ambulance took him off of life support and threw him out of the vehicle so he would have the opportunity to r*pe his wife.
According to The Times of India, the incident occurred late last month after the woman hired the emergency vehicle to escort her, her brother, and her husband home after he was discharged from a hospital in Lucknow due to financial limitations.
Speaking with police, the woman explained that on the way home, the emergency vehicle driver asked her to sit in the front seat next to him to avoid being stopped by police.
"I was forced to sit in the front seat, and then the driver and his companion started molesting me. I objected, but they did not listen to me," she said, adding that her husband and brother sensed something was wrong and began trying to intervene from the back of the ambulance.
As a result, the men stopped the ambulance near the Chhawani police station, where they "forcibly removed the oxygen mask from [the woman's] husband and threw him out" of the car before locking her brother in the front and proceeding to molest her.
In addition to sexually assaulting her, the woman also informed police that the men looted over $120 USD from her purse, jewelry, her identification card, and her husband's hospital reports.
"Thereafter, my brother dialed 112 and 108. The police recorded our statement and said we should get the patient admitted and then come to the Chhawani police station to get the [First Information Report] lodged," continued the woman, noting that the 108 ambulance picked her husband up and drove him to a hospital in the Basti district where he was immediately pronounced dead.
The woman has since launched a complaint with the Lucknow Police, who are currently searching for the suspects.
"We have lodged a case regarding the incident on the basis of the complaint registered by the woman. Our teams are trying to arrest the accused," said Jitendra Kumar Dubey, the Deputy Commissioner of Police in northern Lucknow.

I love high altitude warfare Imagine bleeding out slowly on that brilliant white snow after slaying dozens of sliteyes for the motherland. A life well lived, a death well earned
Please just keep the romance thing a subplot if it must be kept Don't make it half the movie like there.

Hostel owners rally to end work-from-home in IT belt
To make their voice heard, members of the IT Corridor Hostels Association recently took out a protest rally in front of Infosys, Pocharam. "In places like Pocharam, many of us have taken loans and constructed buildings to cater to the IT rush. But now, we are overburdened with EMIs and are not getting any income because companies are still allowing employees to work-from-home. This needs to end as the govt has allotted plots to companies at subsidised cost for the benefit of all and not just one company," said Amarnath Reddy Pasam, president of the association.
Hyderabad: Not just managers and employers, now even hostel owners in the IT corridor want companies to do away with work-from-home and make it compulsory for employees to attend office every day. Their argument: Hostels are struggling to survive post-pandemic, given their dependence on the IT crowd.
There are about 700 apartment-turned-hostels near the Infosys campus in Pocharam with at least another 50 near the IT corridor. In areas like Jodimetla and Uppal, another 200 hostels are said to be operational — all thriving entirely on the rush of the IT workforce from outside Hyderabad.
According to association members, currently, almost all these hostels are running at less than 20% occupancy. They are now planning to meet the IT secretary, IT minister, and chief minister to appraise them of the issue and seek their help in dealing with this steep financial loss.
Many building owners, who have rented out their premises to hostels, said that their income has reduced drastically in the last two to three years.

Real drama is here
For a millennium and a half, from about 250BC to 1200, India was a confident exporter of its own diverse civilisation, creating around it an empire of ideas that developed into a tangible "Indosphere", where its cultural influence was predominant.
