I finally reread Hanako-kun. I forgot it’s a monthly update manga so there weren’t that many new chapters. The manga is tagged as horror but it’s always felt more like a mystery drama with ghosts until the chapter where number six fricks and then eats Sumire alive at her own request. It’s only like four panels but it genuinely freaked me out.

In love live news they’re finally starting with the soft launch of the Vtuber idols by making Rina, a preexisting character, into one. which seems to have generated more hype than the announcement of the new project. Also one more month and two weeks until the new Aqours concert! I’m very excited for it.

I was mostly up to normie shit last week again. I did finish Maid War which had a fantastic ending.

Next Season seems weak outside of the sequels. I was going to watch NieR, Spy Classroom, and Tomo-chan.

Next Season seems weak

>BOFURI: I DON’T WANT TO GET HURT, SO I’LL MAX OUT MY DEFENSE. SEASON 2

>CAMPFIRE COOKING IN ANOTHER WORLD WITH MY ABSURD SKILL

>CHILLIN’ IN MY 30S AFTER GETTING FIRED FROM THE DEMON KING’S ARMY

>REBORN TO MASTER THE BLADE: FROM HERO-KING TO EXTRAORDINARY SQUIRE

>SAVING 80,000 GOLD IN ANOTHER WORLD FOR MY RETIREMENT

>THE REINCARNATION OF THE STRONGEST EXORCIST IN ANOTHER WORLD

There was no isekai last season and now there is 5+ on crunchyroll alone, and I love it. I'm going to watch it all. :marseyagreefast::marseyagreefast::marseyagreefast:

CHILLIN’ IN MY 30S AFTER GETTING FIRED FROM THE DEMON KING’S ARMY

Only one that sounds potentially decent

I somehow managed the opposite. I watched the most anime Ive watched in a single week in years. I felt like when I first started watching anime.

I decided to end/start the new year with chainsawman :marseypochita:. It was pretty good, though I guess I allowed my expectations to grow too big and it never managed to live up to them. I watched the anime and then fully caught up with the manga. I am not sure if some of the things just flat out made no sense or I just missed some things while reading the manga. Hopefully part 2 will be better.

I also watched The case study of Vanitas, which was surprisingly good and probably enjoyed it more because I had no expectations going in. For a vampire story that I'm almost 99% sure is aimed at girls with some BL undertones here and there, it was shockingly good. I especially enjoyed watching the sexual harassment :marseymanysuchcases: Manga is on a hiatus though :marseyitsover:

The last show I watched this week is How the genius prince rebuild the kingdom or something. This was the worst show of the 3, though I guess it wasnt absolutely horrible. Wouldnt recommend it though.

I also started Im quitting heroin' yesterday which is an absolute banger of a show so Im going to finish it tonight or tomorrow.

This upcoming season of Vinland is the last good arc, but also my favorite. Farmland Saga get hype

Tokyo Revengers is a guilty pleasure and it's coming back too

The last half of the first season is quite a drag, but the MC is so cute. It was a chill weekly watch, but an unbearable binge.

Season 2 in a few days!

I just finished reading all the new chapters of arakure ojou sama since the author went on maternity leave. I feel like there's been a drastic drop in quality. She better train that baby to be a God tier mangaka to repent for ruining one of my favourite romcoms.

Finished Bleach (I don't remember when was the last time I watched something current) and it was very, very good. Other than that I continue to put OVAs on and marvel about animation. Demon City Shinjuku might be dumb action junk, but when it wants it looks like gold. I started reading manga. So now I'm switching between some dumb manga comedy, The Temple of the Golden Pavilion by Yukio and War and Peace. Mix up your flavors.

I don't foresee watching anything new, will probably resume Gintama and MI when the mood strikes.

80s and 90s stuff is my weakness. I love stuff like Venus Wars, Honeamise and Megazone 23. I've been watching oldschool ovas less it makes me melancholic.

Star Blazers

Haven't watch it but if we are talking Leiji Matsumoto , i do love the Galaxy Express 999 film

OAVs were a perfect gateway drug, no barriers for entry. Short, crazy/funnny, violent, pretty much mirroring action movies trend of the day while adding a new flavor. You could show it to pre-teen and destroy his chances of ever starting a family or finding love, or being a well adjusted member of society.

First time watching ovas from that era always felt like discovering something insane, like really anything goes no matter how crazy and the level of artistry was always mindboggling, thats the stuff you get when something is at its peak.

Japan really was never the same after the bubble burst. I am not going to shit on digital anime completely but darn, the 00s were pretty akward and bad cgi is plagging everything still.

Yeah, I was surprised that I liked Cardcaptor Sakura as much as I did back a few years ago. Such a comforting show. Melts my cold, cynical heart. Hidamari Sketch and Haibane Renmei also scratched that itch for me.

I loved Hidamari Sketch. 🥺 A recent anime I watched that had similar vibes for me was The Aquatope on White Sand. It has no cringe fanservice and is beautifully animated.

I finished rewatching naruto for 5th time (patrician taste, I know).

Last animes I watched besides naruto was Vinland Saga and Castlevania on netflix like a year ago (maybe i dont remember but was a long time ago). It was good.

Can anyone recommend other animes like those that have an interesting story and isn't coomer bait, set in a highschool or an isekai. Feel free to recommend even normie animes because am actually a pleb that has only watched like 5 animes (never even watched evangelion xd)

I also liked Death Note, Initial D and Monster

Jump in the discussion.

No email address required.

Black Clover if you like cheesy shounen thats like naruto but magic instead of ninjas

Psycho Pass is an interesting one

Legend of the Galactic Heroes - Die Neue These (trailer) is a modern remake of an awesome old space opera

Grimgar, That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime, Mushoku Tensei, TsukiMichi, and Re:Zero are all good adventurish isekai but all fairly different

There's like a million anime so let me know more specifically what you like and dont like and i can give you more recommendations

Hot take, Naruto is the best long running fighting shonen (if you don't count the filler). And One Piece is garbage :duckdance:

Yu yu Hakusho , hunterxhunter, Soul Eater, One Punch Man, Mob Psycho, Samurai Champloo, this is all normie tier here but you said so. If you haven't watched Full Metal Alchemist you probably should too.
