As much as I hate zoomers, this was an inevitability with sites like Vimm. Being on the clearnet means it's just a matter of time til you get hit with dmca takedowns or lawsuits.
If you're not operating out of lenient countries or have mirrors and backups. It will happen, it's just a matter of when.

I'm still seething about this. Vimm should have 404-ed the site after the first warning email. Waiting a few months for the heat and popularity to die down might have saved the site
