My belief is that all "incest fans" actually don't get off to the fact that they're related. But rather the idea that they can only get a woman by having them as a captive audience.
They don't want to frick their sister or whatever, it's just the only reason they can think of that a woman would even be in their home at all
You'd think they'd lean harder into "I fricked my roommate" type of scripts then.
Personally, I'm of the opinion that there are actually far fewer actual "incest fans" than "incest porn", because it's a fetish that they can check the box to with a sentence in the scene description and a couple lines during the shoot. Much easier than having to get a costume or props or anything. They probably don't have to pay the "talent" any extra either.
Which is fricking stupid, because true incest fans would want an elaborate story to understand the dynamic of their taboo relationship, while normies will just see it as a turn off.
Everyone loves to say "the Jews created all the stepsister pornography" but the truth is horny high school boys just want the hot girl from their class in close proximity. It's not deep
I always figured it had to do with it being the safest and easiest to emulate of the taboo s*x fantasies as in take out the being related part and it's just consensual s*x between adults. So it's highly accessible and incest roleplay gets posted on mainstream porn sites. Can't really do something like bestiality roleplay in the same way.

Bingo. Same with step-mom porn. Same thing with the Jap emphasis on the trope of the childhood friend.
The convenience is what's desirable, it's basically the junk food of sexual fantasy.

It's super sus whenever people try to explain the motivation for a fetish
The only way you'd come up with something like that is from deep introspection
