I've only read manga, like normal. Specifically the one overpowered kid from the boonies manga. Apparently the manga isn't getting any more and the light novel ended as an open ending so I'm probably not gonna read it. I don't think the slapstick humor would translate well as only text.

With Trapped in a Dating Sim: The World of Otome Games Is Tough for Mobs it wasn't all just that kind of humor. There was a fair bit of personal character stuff and some political things going on too, and the humor wasn't as wild even in the manga. I feel the Boonies series would only be nice to read as manga but idk, I'll pirate one of the novels and maybe it'll be good

Only watched some more ranma this week, nothing else. I might actually watch the whole thing... Well see.

Watching Wish Upon the Pleiades. An unironic magical girl power of friendship show, it's cute and fluffy. It gets bonus points for being a magical girl anime that doesn't do a weird naked shot of the girls as they transform. Aoi is really annoying to begin with because she's just irrationally against everything Subaru does for no real reasoning, but she gets over it quickly. The broomstick drive shaft making motorbike noises is pretty fun, and the alien is adorable. I like how they differentiate the girls' way of sitting on the broomstick drive shafts according to their personalities.

Still watching Heavy Object. The lads being pervs gets old fast. I'm not really a fan of shows where one of the MCs is basically an idiot and the other is super competent. Again, the sound design for this one is incredible. If you don't have good headphones or a surround sound system, you're gonna miss out.

I figured out why I like it so much, it's because it scratches the same itch 40k titans do - an oversized avatar of destruction piloted by a select few whose only natural predator is its peers, and whose weakness is its logistics chain. That's also why I don't care for the horny bits (on top of the distaste for anime being OTT with it generally) - it takes away from the giant robot fights.

Watched Rascal Does Not Dream of a Knapsack Kid which is still a good series but I feel like I forget half the plot points between movies so I end up watching half the previous one too for context.

I was hyped for Ubel Blatt this season, and it continues to be terrible and censor all the fights. And not even in a 'buy the blu ray' censoring.

Red Ranger has managed to continue being a one note gimmick in a fun way.

L-Gaim really is living up to Proto-ZZ. Amu is basically only thinking about how to get the MC to frick her to the point where she gets jealous of Lilith, a six inch tall fairy.

I'm watching Speed Grapher, the hedonist anime

The latest episode of Re:Zero was possibly the weakest of the whole series. No one wanted a generic flashback of an uninteresting, undeveloped side character that until now had like 10 minutes of screen time

That said, apart from this mishap, this season is great
