Although I concur with this assessment in theory, I feel like it's not an exceptionless statement. Specifically, when I was more active in social media moderation, I feel comfortable saying that there's at least one situation in which off-platform behavior would be considered:

T&S used to do that kind of thing, but are prohibited from doing so by policies, now, designed to protect from liability — because proving (to a court) that a UCHISP had the ability & opportunity to proactively moderate, means they had the ability & opportunity to prevent copyright violations …

It's clear that certain people are using this platform at least in part for the purpose of screenshotting users here for the purpose of posting those screenshots on other platforms. This is apparently occurring even when one party has blocked the other.

If the same screenshots were being posted here, it would probably be a TOS violation. But if it's only being posted on other platforms, and if that is thus not actionable here, and if blocking is proving to not be an effective defense…well, do people here just have no recourse?
