Yes, even the "sport" of running around in fields while swinging sticks has metadrama.

In our group's case, it was a bully who was emboldened to threaten to assault people because the "sport" was simulated swordfighting, and the Board folded. He ran off a lot of people.

Long, long ago, in an era when I ran around fields in funny clothes whilst swinging sticks & shouting commands - as sport - I observed that

when a community devolves into meta, and loses focus on what the community exists to do, that group is no longer a community, & is soon to dissolve.
