THE PACKAGE THAT HAS SAT IN BERGEN NEW JERSEY FOR FIVE FRICKIN WEEKS

Katie Tightkitty, Editor-In-Chief (@katie.bzky.team):

women love to receive the following packages in the mail:

  • extremely gay art
  • bougie chocolate
  • drugs (hormones)
  • precision screwdriver set
  • bookcase

Jason (@jasonnicholson.bsky.social):

Precision screwdriver kit seems like it's a one and done sort of event. All the rest I can see loving to get again and again, but who needs that many tiny screwdrivers besides Santa's elves?

Ms. Penny Oaken, SkyWitch (@skywitches.net):

Something or someone ran off with my T3 T4 T5 & T6 Torx bits so those have to be replaced

Maybe a case to be made that Trump has broken the law by appointing Musk as "the chief executive"

steven monacelli (@stevanzetti.bsky.social):

I hate it here man

chisox fan (@wrlewin.bsky.social):

United States of America Inc. is a Texas corporation registered in October 2024 by Elon Musk. It is linked to Group America LLC, another company registered by Musk at the same time.

Don't you have to have an ounce of masculinity in the first place before you can reclaim it?

Ms. Penny Oaken, SkyWitch (@skywitches.net):

It's not even a cryptofascist plan, it would have to not be openly fash to be cryptofash

Scott Kelley Ernest (He/They) 🏳️🌈 🏳️⚧️ (@mxscottkernest.bsky.social):

I'm also not even sure they are coherent enough to make an actual plan.

Tech companies choosing to not take networked harassment on their platforms seriously as a terroristic threat has always been a choice

Andy Craig (@andycraig.bsky.social):

This is a regime of terror. You can still pop off as a rando online, they haven't yet figured out how to completely shut that down. But achieve any prominence in annoying him and you will be put in literal fear for your life along with risk of career and financial ruin. That's what's going on here.

"Hate … is hard" - Reddit CEO Spez in the FA stage

Turns out it isn't hard, only the regulatory environment was

vortex egg, MLIS (@vortexegg.com):

Hate is only hard if you don't think it is a harm but are constantly getting asked to do something about it

Block that b-word, block that b-word, block that b-word.

The fissure is just there now, let's not drag out the inevitable. Sometimes intra-community discourse can't be mended, and that's okay, but frick just be faster with that block button please.

"Cautiously Optimistic" Garak Tailor (@comfortingmoo.online):

A whole lot of people have been blocking me that dont make sense to me? Im guessing something happened and someone I liked a skeet from once out of context is involved or something. I swear I only see 10% of the entire skyline.

Ms. Penny Oaken, SkyWitch (@skywitches.net):

Knowing the context isn't any better. It didn't have to happen.

"Cautiously Optimistic" Garak Tailor (@comfortingmoo.online):

sigh i just want everyone to have a good time and survive.

I think that in the future we are going to have to make it absolutely & fundamentally clear to our elected representatives that if they aren't willing to get arrested in the due course of their duties by an illegally overreaching executive, on camera, they're not the right person for the job

Joe Dunman (@joedunman.bsky.social):

Look, people in Congress didn't run for office to be brave. They ran to do insider trading and party with billionaires. Pretty unfair of you to start demanding courage.

Aditya Mukerjee 🦦 🏳️🌈 (@chimeracoder.bsky.social):

While this comparison is actually too generous to Facebook (see my reply for why), even as presented here is appalling how clearly our legal system applies a double standard to corporations and billionaires vs. progressive activists fighting for justice.

Mushtaq Bilal, PhD (@mushtaqbilalphd.bsky.social):

Meta illegaly downloaded 80+ terabytes of books from LibGen, Anna's Archive, and Z-library to train their AI models.

In 2010, Aaron Swartz downloaded only 70 GBs of articles from JSTOR (0.0875% of Meta). Faced $1 million in fine and 35 years in jail. Took his own life in 2013.

Aditya Mukerjee 🦦 🏳️🌈 (@chimeracoder.bsky.social):

Aaron Swartz is often incorrectly remembered for "illegally downloading JSTOR papers", but all he did was use a university network that was INTENTIONALLY freely accessible. Furthermore, he did not distribute the papers, nor is there evidence that he ever intended to.

Aditya Mukerjee 🦦 🏳️🌈 (@chimeracoder.bsky.social):

This comparison is too fair to Facebook. Not only did Swartz not actually do anything with any of the data (he literally only downloaded it), but he also did so from a computer network that was both open to the public and specifically authorized to access that data without authentication, by design.

Ms. Penny Oaken, SkyWitch (@skywitches.net):

there is no evidence that he ever intended to

"Copyright law no longer makes sense. As an average person (not a printer), I shouldn't be restricted from noncommercially redistributing someone else's work."

Bits are not a bug.

Ms. Penny Oaken, SkyWitch (@skywitches.net):

That statement was authored in 2008 when Swartz was 12 or 13, but also, was never retracted, and remained up after his death.

The statement goes directly to intent of acts.
