Mostly upper castes are vegetarian and lower castes are non vegetarian. Two exceptions in my state and another one down south where upper castes are non vegetarian too. Something like 80% of the country is non vegetarian they are a majority everywhere. But it doesn't feel that way cause lower castes tend to not have enough income to buy meat/fish regularly.
