4-yr-old boy was killed today by stray dogs in Hyderabad. 21 deaths, over 2 lac dog bites in Kerala in 2022. Whatโs more effective? Castration of stray dogs or of dog activists?

Porinju: a 4-year-old killed by dogs is horrific. But dog activists are not your enemy. The Borgen Project advocates: Capture.Neuter. Vaccinate. Release. Should be possible to build a consensus around that idea.
No use, many have been preaching this for a long time. I feel that killing all stray dogs and neutering 'dog activists' is the only practical solution.
The article says that culling and euthanasia does not work https://borgenproject.org/poverty-and-methods-to-control-stray-dogs/ - it has very little impact on the stray dog population.
Killing all the strays doesn't work here's my article
Kill all mutts btw.
This foid actually made me mald

What about when so many stray dogs were killed brutally in Kerala? As much as it is sad that this happened with the kid, did you all raise your voice against the brutal killings of stray dogs just few months back? #justasking

"Every dog deserves a loving home, but for now, we're here to make sure they have food, shelter, and medical care. Help us help them by retweeting our pinned tweet and spreading the word about our NGO. Thank you for your support! ๐พโค๏ธ

This almost happened to me once when I was kid, like 5-6 dogs immediately started chasing after me for no reason. I didn't even intimidate them with throwing rocks and shit like normal kids do. I ran as fast as I could and found a house gate and locked myself behind it. they barked for a while and left. Told my dad, he called someone, never saw those dogs again. Castration is such a copout. Stray dogs can get real violent at any time.

I always used to throw rocks at dogs chasing me. Usually would have some in my pockets when walked through dog heavy areas.

My theory is kids like that had a positive influence in putting the fear of man into dogs, from how comparatively well behaved dogs are in rural areas where stuff like that is still common. Also there's something about hill dogs. All the ones I've met have been super nice for some reason Including leading ahead on trails and stuff like that. Maybe being out in nature makes them better?

Urban strays drink out of ditches, eat from garbage dumps and are severely malnourished from birth. Not surprising they're more violent. Truth be told, they should be culled as a mercy.

Nah at least in North India garbage dumps are open so they feast well. Look at the dogs in the vid, they aren't malnourished.

Dogs don't chase kids that throw rocks at them they chase those that look weak and are alone. That's why they attack toddlers like this and old people disproportionately.

Yeah I guess so, literally same situation for me, but I was 2 feet taller than this kid then. They are very dangerous and need to be either culled/handled differently. leaving them free like that after castration wont help
