Not to marxpost on main, but Black American culture is used as a way to sell capitalist culture to BIPOCS of the World. If you unravel the threads of most of the mainstream black culture, you just end up with "bourgeois but different." It's similar to ideas we have about "new money" vs "old money." And are basically all about being new money, to which the Global South identifies with better, being the underdogs in a mayo's game. But it is a pipeline to everything else that mayo americans are already part of. And it goes in both directions. They aren't simply fully replacing older versions of bourgeois ideals, they're being influenced by proxy.
