I am posting it here because if it is actually useful information, then I want my Asian compatriots to benefit from it. I don't expect any other nationality of dramanaut to spend time here.
I have felt for years that somewhere along the way from childhood to adulthood, my working memory crashed out, and after improving my IQ to 130, I have decided to improve the quality of my working memory by looking up resources that might help improve it.
Along the way one recommendation that I found was dual n-back exercises and apps. I downloaded the one where when you score high enough in dual n back with 2 n backs, it levels up to 3 n back and then 4 n back and keeps scaling up the better you get.
What dual n back is, is a memory exercise used to assess working memory, but also suggested by some researchers to improve both working memory and fluid iq over time if you use it as a training tool. While I have strong doubts about the increase in fluid iq improvements ( I am a personal believer of working on a task improves your ability in very similar tasks ), I have concluded that there is a decent enough probability of dual n back improving my working memory that it is worth trying out for me.
I have within the first day, already made my way from 2 n back to 3 n back. Which as far as I could tell from further research, is very rapid improvements in n back. Suggesting that either I have very fast learning capabilities that nobody including myself ever realized, or, that I indeed had a great memory as a child but it was lost to the traumas of growing up a NEET, and I am simply recovering what was already there.
I have hearsay information that suggests that I should have good working memory for practical living and success if I can get my dual n-back levels to 7 n backs for a few months, with a decline to 6 n backs if I stop practicing afterwards.
To me that sounds worth it and I intend to practice dual n backs for 10-30 minutes a day for the next 1 year until my memory capacity matches up to my IQ levels.
If any of you have already tested dual n back and have information about how effective it was in your experience, then do let me know. Or maybe if you haven't tried it, you can also test it now and see if it works out for you, and share your results a few months to a year down the line. To help others know if it is worth doing, and helping yourself by testing a possible solution to your working memory problems if you have them, or to simply improve your working memory further if you are dissatisfied with your current capabilities.
