The dog I grew up with died today

No Drama. I am upset. He had multiple seizures today and I had to drive to the vet to meet my mom and my sister where he got put down. He was 17 and I knew this was coming long ago because he well outlived his life expectency, but today was the day. I'm not posting a picture because frick you. My mood is completely wrecked tho. I didn't know that the vets did it right in front of you. I've euthanatized tons of mice as part of my job, but I wasn't ready for this. I'd really rather they walk out and tell you when it's done.
