The world in the witcher books/games isn't all that interesting, honestly. It's a cool concept, but it's not fleshed out that much beyond being a vehicle for witchers being badass outcasts and elves being evil space aliens or whatever. It's all pretty shallow. The entire gimmick that makes it work is a bunch of people who have no business interacting with any other person for any reason forming a semi-functioning family. Remove the characters involved in that and suddenly you have NOTHING.

This is simply untrue, the world is very in-depth and you can basically extrapolate to the society each country is based on anyways. The space alien elves are kinda rslurred and not very fleshed out but the normal elves are well developed.
